Side-Wise Score finished!

I finished the score of my Side-Wise Suite for jazz sextet today. It's a suite that flows as one continuous piece and it will run the entire set, about 50 minutes. There are many sections of different moods and tempos all metrically interrelated by polyrhythmic metric modulation. It is also a showcase for the creative abilities of wonderful band I have; James Muller (guitar), Dave Panichi (trombone), Dan Waples (alto), Cameron Undy (bass) and Felix Bloxsom (drums).

The piece will be premiered in my two-night season at Sydney's Side-On Cafe this Friday April 22 and Saturday April 23. I am have some media coverage this week in honour of this, a feature article in the press and a couple of radio interviews.
